Web Design

I am working on adding screen shots of my favorite website designs, but until then, here are some links to my previous projects: Carpenter Vineyards, Paschal Winery, Abacela Vineyard, Silvan Ridge-Hinman Vineyards, Warriors Plus, 4 the Grapes, and Karen Pidgeon.

Having designed web sites since 1997, I:
am fluent in HTML.
can hand code javascript & CSS.
can customize existing cgi/perl scripts.
understand the importance of designing for the client's target audience.
optimize the web site for faster download times.
understand the importance of designing for cross-platform, cross-browser compatibility.
know how to optimize a web site for the Search Engines, and what Search Engines are the most important.

When starting a web design project, I try to get as much information from the client or project head as possible. Target audience, existing collateral, budget, time frame, company colors, competitors, and existing guidelines are just some of what I like to know going into a project. They determine the starting point for the design, optimal screen resolution, technology used, ideal file size, and the level of graphic work needed -- to name just a few.

I then sketch out some ideas and the best 2 or 3 are drawn up in Illustrator and saved in a web format to be viewed by the client.

The web sites displayed in this portfolio were culled from 6 years worth of web design because I felt they best represented my creativity, graphic and photo editing skills, knowledge of HTML and javascript, and my ability to work within project specifications.
